Golden Honey Oats Bowl

Golden Honey Oats Bowl

This recipe is perfect for a cozy and nutritious breakfast, with the natural sweetness of honey and the creamy texture of oats.

Prep Time: 5 minutes Cook Time: 5-10 minutes (depending on oat type) Yields: 1 serving

Ingredients:

- 1/2 cup rolled oats (old-fashioned or quick oats, for a more satisfying texture)

- 1 cup milk (can be cow's milk, almond milk, oat milk, coconut milk, etc., according to your preference)

- 1 tablespoon honey (and more for drizzling, to taste)

- 1 pinch of salt

- Optional: 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

- Optional (for serving, inspired by the photo):

   - A bit more honey for drizzling

   - Chopped nuts (walnuts, sliced almonds, pecans) for crunch

   - Fresh fruit (sliced banana, berries, mango)

   - A dash of ground cinnamon

Instructions:

- Combine Ingredients: In a small saucepan, add the oats, milk, and a pinch of salt.

- Cook: Bring the saucepan to medium-high heat and bring to a boil. Once boiling, reduce the heat to medium-low and simmer, stirring occasionally, until the oats reach your desired consistency (usually 5 to 10 minutes for old-fashioned oats, and less for quick oats). The oats should absorb most of the liquid and become creamy.

- Add Honey and Vanilla (Optional): Remove the saucepan from the heat. Stir in 1 tablespoon of honey and the vanilla extract (if using). Mix well until the honey is dissolved and evenly combined.

- Serve: Transfer the cooked oats to a bowl.

- Finish: Drizzle generously with more honey, as shown in the picture. Add any optional toppings you desire, such as nuts, fresh fruit, or cinnamon.

Chef's Tips:

- Consistency: If you prefer your oats runnier, add a little more milk at the end of cooking. If you prefer them thicker, cook for a few more minutes or use less liquid initially.

- Sweetness: Adjust the amount of honey to your taste. You can also use maple syrup or another natural sweetener.

- Variations: For an extra boost of flavor and nutrients, add chia seeds or flax seeds during cooking.

- Make Ahead: For a quick breakfast, you can prepare "Overnight Oats" the night before. Simply combine all ingredients (except the drizzling honey) in a container and refrigerate overnight. In the morning, add honey and toppings.

Enjoy your delicious and nutritious Golden Honey Oats Bowl!
